Alan Shearer en route to helping Blackburn Rovers to their first and only Premier League title in the 1994/1995 season scored and assisted in seven different games to steer his team to the title.

Harry Kane equalled that record last season in Tottenham colours as he won both the top scorer and top assist awards thus becoming only the second player after Andy Cole to achieve such feat.

Mason Mount has scored eleven goals and provided ten assists in thirty one games for Chelsea this season and has just two games left to equal that record.

Leicester City visit Stamford Bridge on Thursday before they host already relegated Watford in their final game of the season.

Mount could put the heartache of his penalty miss in the final behind him by reaching this milestone in an underwhelming season by Chelsea’s standards.

Former Liverpool and Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez has offered Jurgen Klopp and his men advise about Real Madrid’s strength as both teams prepare to face off in the final of the Champions League.

Real Madrid overcame Manchester City in the semi finals thanks to their rich bench which was also the case against Chelsea in the quarter finals while Liverpool have thrived on his team’s fitness and cohesion.

Benitez has however warned that Real Madrid could be dangerous due to the experience of their midfield and a rich bench to call upon calling on Jurgen Klopp to be ready for the Spanish champions.

Asked about the difference in both teams, the Spanish coach told AS: “Real Madrid have relied on the experience of their midfield to take advantage of [Karim] Benzema’s quality and movement, alongside Vinicius [Junior], but Rodrygo or [Eduardo] Camavinga have also provided energy and balance for the team when they have played. It’s obvious Benzema, Vinicius and now Rodrygo will be the players to watch for Liverpool.

“The players make the difference on the pitch but the coach also plays an important role preparing, drawing up the game plan and choosing the most suited team. And then they can reinforce what has been done well or change things if something goes wrong during the game. Now being able to make more substitutions, the quality on the bench is key. The advantage for the coach especially coaching big teams is that he can make “good substitutions” because he has better players on the bench.”

Klopp was full of praise for his rotated squad which managed to pick up victory away to Southampton on Tuesday night to keep the title race open till the last day.

Benitez addressed Liverpool’s strength upfront and what Real Madrid has to worrie about.

“Liverpool is a fairly complete team with quality and speed up front, now they are capable of keeping the ball for longer periods due to the superiority over their opposition in most of their games. But they are still dangerous in counter-attacks and set pieces, so they [Real Madrid] have to worry about a lot of things.

“[But] I suppose [we will see] something similar to what we have seen in the journey of the two teams. A Real Madrid that has reacted in key moments to take advantage of their players’ quality. And an aggressive Liverpool that will want to impose their quality and intensity.
