Max Verstappen Extends Contract With RedBull

F1 Number One driver, Max Verstappen is set to stay at RedBull for five more years after he signed a lucrative new contract to stay at Red Bull till 2028, the car company has announced.

The confirmation came on Thursday after reports of the deal been sealed during the week. The two sides have concluded the deal and their partnership continues till 2028.

“Really proud to announce that @redbullracing will be my home until at least 2028. I love this team and I am very happy to continue this amazing journey we are on for a long time. We have accomplished so much together already but we are definitely not done.” Verstappen took to Twitter to break the news.

The deal puts an end to speculations of him leaving the team, a news the driver himself has made light of after declaring he wants to stay with the team for life following his title win last year.

The Redbull driver became the first driver from the Netherlands to clinch the coveted Formula one title after years of dominance by the Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes led team of driver.

The 24-year-old broke a seven years monopoly by the Briton after he won the last race of the season which was the title deciding race, in a controversial manner at Abu Dhabi in 2021.

According to the Daily Mail and Dutch publication De Telegraaf, Verstappen’s deal is worth around £40 million ($53.3 million).

This means the Dutch man has equalled the earning figure of the most decorated driver, Lewis Hamilton whose contract is worth around £40 million a year.

Red Bull recently struck a lucrative deal with Oracle reported to be a five-year $500 million deal and this may have facilitated RedBull’s deal with Verstappen.
