Again, Edouard Mendy will be unavailable for selection as his side faces a strong battle against Al Ittihad.



The Senegalese goalkeeper was substituted during the halftime of the last league game against Al Akhdoud.

Following the substitution, the club released a statement confirming the goalkeeper has yet again suffered an injury.

The statement confirmed a thigh problem for the former Chelsea goaltender who has since started his rehabilitation as confirmed by club doctors.

“Medical examinations showed that Édouard Mendy is suffering from an injury in his thigh. The player started a rehabilitation program, under the supervision of the medical team at the Club, ahead of his return to team training soon.” The club announced.

Mendy had only just returned to action in the last match day, having missed the club’s last six games due to injury.

His absence over the course of the season has done no good to the side as they have constantly ship in goals.

He has now been placed under strict supervision of club doctors as they hope to get him back to action as soon as possible.

The 32 year old left Chelsea in the summer of 2023 to sign for Al Ahli and has since become a mainstay in the team.
