It was an unconvincing display and a very displeasing result for English Premier League giant, Arsenal earlier today as they lost to Newcastle United away from home to drop more ground in the EPL title race, but for their manager, there is no time to dwell on the defeat as he calls for focus ahead of their next game.

More Details

For Mikel Arteta, he feels that the Gunners will “have to react” against Inter Milan in the UCL after their loss, and in his post match interview, the coach admitted that today’s loss was “deserved” and stressed the importance of trying to bounce back at the San Siro. Arsenal have had a tough run of form since they returned from the October international break.

Losses against the likes of Bournemouth and Newcastle United have arrived on the backdrop a 2-2 draw against Liverpool in the league. This has left Arsenal with some catching up to do in the Premier League. But the Gunners won’t have much time to dwell on these disappointing results. In just a few days, they will have to switch their focus from their domestic commitments to Europe.

And it will be a very tough match in which to try and bounce back from today’s defeat. The North London club will travel to Italy to face Inter on Wednesday evening at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. This is certainly one of the marquee matchups for this round of fixtures in the Champions League. Neither of the two clubs have been at their absolute best in recent weeks.

However, both teams remain hugely formidable regardless of recent form. They are both among the favourites to make a deep run in or even win the Champions League this season. After today’s loss, Arteta admitted that “We deserved to lose.” “We got dragged into the kind of game they wanted to play, and we couldn’t play the way we wanted,” he said of facing Newcastle.

As far as how to respond to this loss, the Arsenal coach said that “We can say what we want. But we’d struggle to find the words today. “The reaction has to come on the pitch on Wednesday evening,” Arteta said, looking forward to his team’s Champions League showdown with Inter. “We need to give our best to have a chance to win,” he said.

In a related development, Milan Mayor Beppe Sala has revealed that the city’s revenue agency has finished their assessment of the land around the San Siro. Speaking to reporters, Sala also updated that the city are awaiting an official statement of intent from Inter and AC Milan regarding their plans with the area in relation to their stadium plans.

In recent weeks, Inter and Milan have begun to shift towards the idea of building a new stadium in the San Siro area, adjacent to the existing stadium. The clubs cannot demolish the iconic stadium and build a new one in its place. And they have rejected Sala’s idea of renovating the stadium so that they can stay in it. But at the same time, Inter and Milan could still stay right near the San Siro.

They could build a new structure on the land adjacent to the stadium. That would be instead of building outside the city proper, in the greater metropolitan area. First, the clubs must formally confirm their intent to build adjacent to the San Siro, though. And then, they would have to buy the land from the city. Currently they only rent the existing San Siro.”

And as far as the price tag, Milan Mayor Sala said that “The revenue agency has finished their assessment.” “But I can’t reveal what the figure would be at the moment,” he said. “Our offices are examining it.” Sala then said that “We’ve done what the clubs asked us to do. “Now we have nothing else to do for the moment.

“If the teams, through a formal statement of interest in the San Siro area, come forward then we can continue to work towards that.” “We’ve already made some decisive steps forward,” Sala noted. “Now we wait for a statement of interest. Until then, we have nothing else to do.” He further added. The clubs are expected to give their response next week.
