With the World Cup expected to take place in the same year, players will definitely be pushing for a transfer as they hope to join new clubs and play regularly so that they can be part of their national teams that will be going to the World Cup, hence we’re probably going to see lots of movements next month.

Consequently, this is could be bad news for Italian giants, AC Milan as reports in Italy claim that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is considering the possibility of a move away from San Siro during the January transfer window to boost his chances of being selected in Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup squad.
The former Chelsea midfielder has been a valuable squad player under Massimiliano Allegri this season, featuring in a number of different roles including a brief stint in the attacking line of a 3-5-2 in the absence of Rafael Leao earlier this season but never nailing down a regular starting spot in the team.
Despite being called up to the England national team squad in October, Loftus-Cheek has struggled for opportunities as a starter in Milan following the signings of Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot and Samuele Ricci over the summer plus the addition of Ardon Jashari, who is currently injured.
The Englishman started all of Milan’s first three league matches of the season, but has only started one of their 11 league games since then. With Milan not involved in European competition this season, and having also been knocked out of the Coppa Italia, Serie A is currently Loftus-Cheek’s only chance of minutes in the Milan line-up.
Now, according to reports from Calciomercato, Loftus-Cheek is considering the possibility of leaving in January in order to increase his game time ahead of the World Cup in the summer and there have been suggestions that Napoli could be poised to offer a temporary solution.
The reigning Serie A champions are currently in the midst of a midfield injury crisis with Kevin De Bruyne, Stanislav Lobotka, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Billy Gilmour all currently unavailable and the Partenopei already have Kobbie Mainoo as their top target and Inter’s Davide Frattesi as another option.
Furthermore, there had been reports over the summer that Lazio were also interested Loftus-Cheek but it remains to be seen whether they will make an approach during the winter window while the report claims that there have also been enquiries from a number of unspecified Premier League clubs, and that there could also be potential opportunities for Loftus-Cheek in the Bundesliga.

In a related development, Allegri has won the Serie A coach of the Month award for November. “The Philadelphia Coach Of The Month award for November has been assigned to Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri,” Lega Serie A said on Friday as Cremonese’s Jamie Vardy won the player of the month award.
“The trophy will be presented during the pre-match of Milan vs Sassuolo, scheduled for Sunday, 14th December at 12.30 at the ‘Giuseppe Meazza’ Stadium in Milan.” Lega Serie A explained that “for the final calculation were considered the matchdays from 10 to 13 of Serie A 2025/2026.”
It was further revealed that “the award was assigned by a jury of Directors of sports media who evaluated each coach on the basis of technical and sporting criteria and the quality of play of their teams, as well as their behaviour/fair play during matches.”
As for Lega Serie A CEO, Luigi De Siervo, he said: “The exciting head-to-head battle at the top of the league also leads to a constant competition between the great Serie A managers. In November, Massimiliano Allegri came out on top with 10 points from four games, keeping a clean sheet in all three of the direct clashes he won.”

“The Tuscan coach has managed to get the best out of the players at his disposal, setting up a well-organised team capable of reading the different moments of the game. Allegri`s Milan are showing a winning mentality and a newfound awareness of their own abilities, characteristics necessary to fight for the top of the table until the end of the season”. He further added.
