Benteke, who also provided seven assists, defeated Denis Bouanga of LAFC and Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez of Inter Miami CF (both 20 goals).
The Belgian sensation is the third Golden Boot winner for his team in history, joining Dwayne De Rosario (2011) and Luciano Emilio (2017).
Benteke’s best efforts weren’t enough to save the Black-and-Red from missing the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs following a 3-0 Decision Day loss to Charlotte FC.

With 40 points (10W-14L-10D), they were ranked tenth in the Eastern Conference standings.
Benteke now joins an elite group of athletes to have won the Golden Boot, which has been given out since the league’s founding in 1996.
Before moving to outright goals, the award was given out according to a points-based system that granted two points for a goal and one for an assist from 1996 to 2004.
