MLS: Crucial Contract Talks Underway For Minnesota United’s Dayne St. Clair, Robin Lod

Minnesota United FC is currently working to re-sign two key players, goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair and midfielder Robin Lod, following their recent season-end roster decisions.

More Details

Dayne St. Clair, who is currently out of contract, is a high priority for the club. He was recently honored as the 2025 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and was named to the 2025 MLS Best XI.

The Canadian international has been Minnesota’s starting goalkeeper for the past four seasons and is expected to have a significant role in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Robin Lod, whose contract option was declined, is also being negotiated with. The Finland international is one of the club’s most experienced players, holding the second-most appearances (185 games) in the Loons’ MLS history. Lod, a 2024 MLS All-Star, has been with the club since 2019, when he joined from Spain’s Sporting de Gijón.

Minnesota United have a contract decision to make regarding Hassani Dotson, their third-most capped player (176 appearances) since being drafted in 2019, as he is now a free agent.

In a record-setting 2025 season where they accumulated 58 regular-season points, Coach Eric Ramsay’s side made it to the Western Conference Semifinals of the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs before being eliminated by San Diego FC.
