The exit of the 28-year-old Portuguese player is a strategic roster move that frees up both a Designated Player (DP) spot and an international slot, giving the team significant flexibility for future signings.

To wrap up the deal, RSL exercised one of their two annual guaranteed contract buyouts.
During his time with the club, Gonçalves tallied six goals and five assists across 46 appearances in all competitions.
His stint in Utah followed a move from the Danish Superliga’s FC Copenhagen in August 2024.
