MLS: Inter Miami Extends Yannick Bright Through 2028

On Tuesday, Inter Miami CF confirmed they have signed Yannick Bright to a contract extension that runs through the 2028 season, with a club option for the 2029 season.

Bright, a 24-year-old midfielder, is playing his second season for the team after being selected in the first round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.

The Italian native’s professional career with the Herons includes 68 matches, where he has registered 1 goal and 2 assists.
He was instrumental to the 2024 Supporters’ Shield-winning team, which set a new MLS single-season points record (74).
Prior to joining Miami, he excelled in college soccer at the University of New Hampshire, earning prestigious honors such as First Team All-American and being a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist.
In other news, Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Tristan Blackmon was honored as the 2025 MLS Defender of the Year, recognition for his role in the club’s record-breaking season.

Blackmon played 25 league matches, tallying 2 goals and 1 assist, but his primary impact was on the defensive end.
He led a backline that gave up the second-lowest number of goals in the league (38) and earned the joint-second-highest number of shutouts (13).
These defensive efforts fueled Vancouver’s most successful season since joining MLS in 2011, establishing new club highs with 63 points, 18 wins, and a +28 goal differential.
