More Details

After Nashville fired Gary Smith earlier this month, the interim manager manned the touchline for his third game and led the team to an unexpected 2-0 victory over FC Cincinnati, a team that was a candidate for the Supporters’ Shield.

The Tennessee based club put on perhaps its best performance since reaching the Leagues Cup final last summer, ending the Orange & Blue’s seven-game winning streak and earning their third shutout in four games.

On Wednesday night, Inter Miami lost 3-1 to Atlanta United despite Lionel Messi’s 11th goal of the season.

Inter dominated possession in the first half in an attempt to extend their winning run to ten games, but they were unable to profit on several opportunities.

The hosts were unable to equalise, though, as Atlanta’s goal in the 73rd minute from Jamal Thiare gave them enough breathing room to hold on for their first victory in nine games.

On Saturday, Inter Miami take on St. Louis before of the June 20 start of the Copa America.

Meanwhile…

Another game at home, another Subaru Park rain cloud.

And yet, this version of the Boys in Blue tonight was new, even if it seemed like this scene had been repeated a thousand times before.

Due to an injury sustained on Tuesday, forward Julian Carranza was the only member of Philadelphia’s starting lineup to alter. Lorenze Insigne, who had flown to Naples to be with his wife for the birth of their third child, was absent from Toronto FC in the meantime.
