The expansion team San Diego FC defeated the reigning MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy 2-0 in their season-opening match thanks to two goals from Anders Dreyer on MLS is Back weekend.

After LA defender Emiro Garcés slipped in his own box, Dreyer scored a historic goal, and Mexican star Chucky Lozano crossed the ball.
Dreyer was far from finished. After a spectacular attempt to conclude a counterattack launched by Tomás Ángel in the 93rd minute, he went on to score the team’s second goal and secure all three points.
Together, Dreyer and Lozano combined spectacularly to give San Diego the lead. Dreyer joined from Belgian powerhouse Anderlecht for a reported transfer cost of about $5 million.
