The Ecuadorian international, who joined the Black & Gold in August 2019 from SD Aucas in his own country, started as the team’s left back for the previous four seasons.

For the team in 102 regular-season games, Palacios, 24, recorded 1 goal and 12 assists. He was named an MLS All-Star in 2022 and assisted LAFC in winning both the MLS Cup and the Supporters’ Shield in the same campaign.

Ryan Hollingshead and Sergi Palencia are the two best fullbacks left in LAFC when Palacios leaves. And LAFC has now lost two starting defenders from their MLS Cup 2023 finalist squad, in addition to Giorgio Chiellini’s retirement.

On February 24, the team led by head coach Steve Cherundolo will play their season opener against Seattle Sounders FC (4:30 pm ET | MLS Season Pass).

Luis Suárez, a five-time La Liga champion and winner of the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Champions League, and Copa América, has signed a deal with Inter Miami CF that will last until the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) season.

The legendary Uruguayan striker, who helped Grêmio win the Campeonato Gaúcho and Recopa Gaúcha and was voted the Brazilian league’s Best Player and Best Striker for his 26 goals and 17 assists in 53 appearances, will join the squad before to the start 2024 Major League Soccer season.
