When Miami signed Lionel Messi to a contract with Major League Soccer in July, they pulled off a significant transfer coup.

Along with Messi, the Florida team also acquired Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, two other Barcelona legends. And now, according to Croatian media, they are attempting to persuade Modric to move to Florida to join Messi and company.

The 38-year-old, who has won three LaLiga championships and five Champions League wins with Real, is reportedly a major admirer of club co-owner David Beckham.

Modric signed a new one-year contract just last June, but the abundance of youthful players in Carlo Ancelotti's midfield has cut into his playing time.

Since the Italian manager has players like Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Federico Valverde at his disposal, he has only started one league game so far this year. Miami is currently 14th in the Eastern Conference table.

John Herdman has been officially named the new coach of MLS based club Toronto FC. Starting on October 1st, the 48-year-old will take over as Toronto FC’s next head coach in the MLS.

Herdman became the coach of Canada in January 2018 before leading the North American giants to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, their first appearance in 36 years.

“I’m keen to start this new opportunity with Toronto FC,” he said. “It’s the right time for a new challenge.” Toronto fired former head coach Bob Bradley in June and are currently towards the bottom of the MLS standings.
