Bayern Munich will bid farewell to a long serving club legend come the end of the current campaign.

The Bavarians announced last week that the club and Thomas Muller will not renew their agreement.

It spells the end of a 25 year association between both parties, a period filled with glory.

The Oberbayern born striker first arrived at the Allianz Arena in 2000 as an 11 year old boy.

He then went through the ranks to becoming one of the most decorated and longest serving players in the history of the club.

Since making his debut in 2008 for the first team, Muller has gone on to win 32 trophies in the colours of his beloved Bayern Munich.

Following the announcement by Bayern, the 35 year old took to Instagram to give a public address on the topic.

“Thank you for the immense appreciation you’ve shown me – not just over the past 17 years, but especially in these last few days.”

“Secondly – and this is actually the more important point – our match against Inter Milan tomorrow. This duel is about really opening the door to the ‘Finale dahoam’. That’s what truly matters now.”

“And thirdly, (…) between me and the club, there’s no bad blood. We’re looking ahead and we’re absolutely aligned. You don’t always have to agree on everything in life to still ride the same wave.” @SkySportDE.

The World Cup winner with Germany in 2014 will hope to finish on a high as Bayern Munich look to wrap up the Bundesliga title and go all the way in the Champions League.
