“My Job Here Is To Prepare Players To Play For Tottenham Hotspur” Nuno On Ndombele

Written By Jacobs Dunga
Tanguy Ndombele wants to leave Spurs just two years after his club record move from Olympique Lyonnais in 2019. Nuno Espírito Santo was asked about his reason for not picking the French midfielder for match day squads and he replied by talking about motivation.
More Details…
Tottenham have their hands full when it comes to players who’re willing to ply their trades away from the club as Tanguy Ndombele has joined Harry Kane in asking to leave the club. With different scenarios clouding the players’ decision it can be understood that something is not right behind the scenes at the London club.
Nuno failed to pick Ndombele for three preseason games as well as the opening game of the premier league season and most recently he was left out of Thursday’s Europa Conference league match away to Pacos Ferreira despite fielding a second string side.

Nuno was blunt when asked why the 24 year olds hasn’t been considered.
“What happened in the past I can’t even think about, I don’t mention out of respect,” he said.
“What I can tell you is that Tanguy is with us, he works but we have to speak honestly and to take the best out of Tanguy [it] has to come from himself.
“I don’t want to go much further than that but it has to come from himself.
“We already had a chance to talk but it must come from himself. I said it before, my job here is not to convince players to play for Tottenham Hotspur, it is to prepare players to play for Tottenham Hotspur.”
Spurs will let the midfielder who has struggled under every single coach since his arrival from France leave if the right offer arrives.
Meanwhile…
Nuno will meet with Kane to decide whether the England captain will play a part in the Wolves game.

The 28 year has returned to full training over the course of the week with him now available for selection but the coach has said the decision to play will be considered properly between the coach and the player.
Asked who would make the call, Nuno said: “Me and Harry.”
He added on Friday: “He trained well today. He is better than yesterday. It is a growing process. Each day he goes on the pitch he improves his fitness.
“It is a decision we are going to take tomorrow. There is not much more than I can add that I have not already said.”
On whether Kane’s selection would be based solely on fitness, Nuno added: “Everything, everything, not only with Harry but with all the players.
“We had issues with the match yesterday. The players are recovering. We have to measure all the things with all the players, and Harry is one more situation where we have to think and decide.”
