The versatile defender’s deal with Los Blancos is coming to an end, and despite having a one-year extension offer on the table, the Spaniard has put a stop to contract negotiations.

Since Antonio Rudiger moved to the team this summer, Nacho has finding it very difficult to get into games. The Spaniard has fewer minutes because he is below the pecking order.

As a result, the 32-year-old has only participated in 11 games across all competitions, totaling only 414 minutes. Given his decreased playing time and his contract status, a summer departure might be imminent. But the source also says that there’s a chance Nacho might go as early as January.

Aston Villa and Wolves, two Premier League teams who are showing interest in the 32-year-old, might give him more playing time if he decides to switch teams midway through the season.

Nacho, a player who has played his entire career with Real Madrid, has often insisted he wants to stay a one-club man. But given his current predicament, leaving in January might become a possibility.

If that occurs, according to the report, Ancelotti may choose to bolster the center back position by bringing in Real Madrid Castilla defender Rafa Marin.

Meanwhile…

Real Madrid players returned to training this Saturday and that included striker Karim Benzema, who completed the session with the rest of his teammates in what was a light session.

Needless to say, the players who featured in the 2022 World Cup will have more days to rest and get ready for the second half of the season, so only Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos, David Alaba, Dani Ceballos, Ferland Mendy, Andriy Lunin, Jesus Vallejo, Nacho Fernandez, Lucas Vazquez, Alvaro Odriozola and Mariano Diaz were present at Valdebebas today.

The rest of the squad will progressively return to training, so coach Carlo Ancelotti will have to rely on that small squad to get ready for what’s going to be a very intense month of January.
