Napoli Is Ready To Fund Their Move For Midfield Target By Selling Giacomo Raspadori
Written By Onyeka Daniel
It is safe to say that reigning Serie A champions, Napoli is the busiest club so far in the league as their president, Aurelio De Laurentiis has lived up to the promise of bringing in new players and also getting rid of a few players too with Victor Osimhen the latest one to be sold.
More Details
With a guaranteed €75m in transfer fee for Osimhen, the Partenopei will now look to bring in at least two more players before the transfer window closes, but after bringing in the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Luca Marianucci, Sam Beukema and Noa Lang, they might need to sell to fund new signings.

Earlier today, the imminent arrival of Miguel Gutierrez was reported as he is set to become a new Napoli player as reports from Italy claim that negotiations have been finalised with his club Girona as negotiations have been completed and all that remains is for the final details to be ironed out.
The 24-year-old who was part of the Spain squad that won the Olympic Gold Medal in 2024 in Paris has already said yes to Napoli ahead of a reported €20m move. He signed for Girona from Real Madrid in 2022, with the La Liga giants retaining a sell-on clause that will see them earn a percentage if the deal goes through.
Since he arrived in Catalonia, Gutierrez has played 111 times in all competitions and was named in the La Liga Team of the Season in the 2023-24 campaign and this might not be the last piece of transfer business between Napoli and LaLiga clubs before the transfer window closes.
Consequently, according to a separate report from Italy, Atletico Madrid have submitted an offer of €25m plus bonuses for Giacomo Raspadori and according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Atléti submitted their first offer today as negotiations continue between the two clubs.
The current offer on the table is €22m plus €3m for Champions League qualification, plus €1m in easy to achieve bonuses, meaning a total of €26m but Napoli are asking for them to add in a solidarity payment, in which case, the deal is done as they reportedly hold out for €30m.
Di Marzio reports that a breakthrough could be imminent and that today will be a vital day in the deal. The 25-year-old played 26 times in Serie A last season as Antonio Conte’s side won the Scudetto. He scored six goals and provided one assist in 1097 league minutes.
It meant that he played a relatively bit-part role in the team’s campaign as a backup to Romelu Lukaku and now with the arrival of Lorenzo Lucca, Raspadori was pushed further to the fringe and Atletico were waiting to swoop in for the former Sassuolo forward.
If the deal progresses, it will be Atletico’s second Serie A signing of the summer – after they completed a move for left-back Matteo Ruggeri from Atalanta. For the Neapolitan club, they would reinvest the money gotten from this to try and sign Yunus Musah from Milan.

The Partenopei had made an initial approach for the former Valencia midfielder and now, they’re ready to resume their pursuit of Musah, albeit acknowledging other clubs like Nottingham Forest are also still interested. At the end of the day, not just the bid on the table will be decisive, but also what the player wants.
In the transfer duel between these clubs, Dan Ndoye went to Nottingham Forest because the difference was in the transfer fee, but we’ll see what happens with Musah. The big development Is that Napoli are ready to improve upon the €25m offer made in June.
The idea is to give in to Conte’s demand for a muscular midfielder. This is why other targets like Fabio Miretti and Giovanni Fabbian are, at least for now, put on stand-by as the Scudetto winning manager wants an explosive presence in midfield and Musah has the characteristics he’s looking for.

For the Rossoneri, they’re ready to sell the American after completing the signing of Ardon Jashari as they’re well stacked in the midfield following the previous arrival of Samuele Ricci and Luca Modric and then coupled with the presence of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Youssouf Fofana.
