Neal Maupay has joined Sevilla from Olympique Marseille on a loan deal until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent.

The French forward who once featured for Brentford across two seasons moved to Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2019, quickly establishing himself as a key player for the Seagulls.

In his debut season, he featured in 37 league games and one FA Cup match, netting ten goals. He maintained this form over the next two seasons, scoring eight goals in 36 appearances in 2020/21 and nine goals in 35 appearances in 2021/22.

His consistency earned him a step up to Everton in the summer of 2022 at the age of 26. Maupay made 29 appearances and scored once during his first season with the Toffees. The following campaign saw him make three appearances for Everton before returning to Brentford on loan, where he played 34 games and scored eight goals.

In the summer of 2024, Maupay returned to his home country, joining Olympique Marseille. Over the past season and a half, he has featured in 28 matches and scored six goals, continuing to bring experience and attacking threat to the squad.

His arrival is expected to add more firepower to Matías Almeyda’s side after been assigned the number 17 jersey.
