New England Revolution Keen To Sign Veteran Goalie As Petrovic Replacement – Report
Written by Patrick Echatah
The New England Revolution are in the unfortunate position of having to change their top goalkeeper three times in only two years.
More Details
After selling Matt Turner to Arsenal in 2022, the Revs signed Serbian international Djordje Petrovic in his place. This week, Chelsea will finalize the sale of Petrovic.
However, it seems like New England was ready for Petrovic to leave because the team moved rapidly to find a replacement for the 23-year-old, who many consider to be the best goalkeeper in Major League Soccer.
Tomas Vaclik, a 34-year-old goalie ready to have an experience in MLS before his career ends, is scheduled to sign with New England in the coming days.
Vaclik, who has played for his country for 50 times, has had a career that has taken him all over the world. His most recent stop was in England, where he worked to maintain Huddersfield in the EFL Championship.
Vaclik gained further notoriety when playing for Basel for four seasons, where he won four titles in as many seasons. His efforts there led to a transfer to Sevilla in Spain, where he won the UEFA Europa League in 2020 and played a total of 94 games.

As one of the first MLS stars, Landon Donovan was asked to comment on the disputed Leagues Cup match between Inter Miami and Nashville SC.
This situation gave Landon Donovan the arguments to throw a dart at Liga MX and ensure that American soccer has already surpassed Mexican soccer.
Landon Donovan has been a great supporter of the MLS since he played in the league during the early stages of the Los Angeles Galaxy.
