Nico Williams A Major Doubt For Athletic Club Ahead Of Away Clash At Barcelona

Athletic Club have confirmed that Yeray Alvarez will undergo surgery as part of the treatment for a torn adductor muscle in his right leg and that Nico Williams has suffered a muscle injury on the left side of his ribcage which makes him doubtful for the weekend clash away at Barcelona.

The La Liga schedule returns from the international break with some eye-catching fixtures on the agenda including this clash in Catalonia and with fixtures already lined up, Athletic Club have been dealt a big blow with striker Nico Williams potentially se to miss their weekend clash away at Barcelona.
The club confirmed the injury to the key player alongside Yeray but didn’t give a stipulated return date.
“The player Yeray Alvarez will undergo surgery this Wednesday, 18 October, as part of the treatment for a torn adductor muscle in his right leg”, the club official statement began.
“Nico Williams has suffered a muscle injury on the left side of his ribcage”, it ended.
Athletic Club have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, currently in fifth place with Barcelona just ahead of them in third spot however, the visitors look set to be without the 21-year-old for the upcoming tie after he was forced to withdraw from the Spain squad due to injury.

According to BILD, via MD, Bayern Munich are eyeing up a move for Girona’s Viktor Tsygankov with the German giantsreportedly scouting Tsygankov with a view to a move next summer, although Premier League clubs had already made enquiries last summer.

Girona value Tsygankov at €30m, but only hold 50% of his rights, and thus Dynamo Kiev will benefit from half of his sale. It would be a surprise if Bayern did commit to such an outlay for Tsygankov, as he will not have a major sell-on value at this age.
