Nicolas Gonzalez Edges Closer To Juventus Exit
Nicolás González is moving steadily towards a permanent departure from Juventus, with Atlético Madrid on course to trigger the €32 million purchase clause included in his loan deal.

With two games left in the first half of the season, the Argentine international has already passed the halfway mark of the appearances required to make the transfer mandatory. González needs to feature for more than 45 minutes in just ten of Atlético’s remaining 21 La Liga matches for the clause to be activated.
Atlético finalised González’s signing on deadline day of the previous transfer window, agreeing a loan deal with Juventus that included a conditional obligation to buy.
The clause stipulates that the winger must play at least 45 minutes in 60% of La Liga matches. Given that three league rounds had already been completed at the time of the agreement, González needed to meet the criteria in 21 of the remaining 35 fixtures as per Marca.

So far, the numbers strongly favour Atlético. González has already met the condition in 11 matches, accounting for 78.6% of the games played so far under the agreement, leaving him just ten appearances away from sealing the permanent move.
As a result, Atlético’s hierarchy have already budgeted for his acquisition. González has impressed across the board, with Diego Simeone emerging as his earliest and strongest advocate, and the club were prepared to pursue his signing even without the clause being met.
However, all indications suggest that no further negotiations with Juventus will be required, as González needs to play more than 45 minutes in only 47.6% of the remaining league matches to complete the deal.
