National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) midweek games saw San Diego Waves securing a 2-0 win over Utah Royals at the Snapdragon Stadium on Thursday.

Goals from Jaedyn Shaw and Makenzy Doniak spell victory for San Diego Wave FC.
Shaw opened the scoring from the penalty spot after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review after a foul by Paige Monaghan inside the box in the 35th minute of play.
Substitute, Doniak sealed the win in the 77th minute from Shaw through ball after the visitors lost the ball in the middle of the field.
The win was Waves third in the league this season after seven games as they moved to the eighth position on the log with 10 points.
Utah Royals remained at the bottom of the table with four points after eight games.

An early strike by Lynn Williams in the eighth minute sealed the win for the travelers from a rebound.
Williams with 78 goals is now tied with Sam Kerr as all-time leaders in all NWSL competitions after her goal against Houston Dash.
Christine Sinclair (76), Alex Morgan (66), and Debinha (63) are the other all-time leading goal scorers in all NWSL tournaments.
The leaguer holders moved up to the seventh position with 11 points while Houston Dash with six points seats in the 13th position.
