Spanish Champions, FC Barcelona Femeni has been disqualified from this season’s Copa de la Reina.
More Details
The RFEF discovered that the Catalan side lined up an ineligible player, Geyse Ferreira against Osasuna.
Despite the Blaugrana’s 9-0 victory, it is Osasuna that will now qualify for the quarter-final of the Spanish Cup (Copa de la Reina).
The club is also fined €1,000 and can still file an appeal in the next 10 days.

It should be noted that Geyse had received a red card in her previous Copa game with Madrid CFF and shouldn’t have played the match against Osasuna.
Geyse scored a goal during the match with Bruna Vilamala bagging a hat trick during a comprehensive 9-0 thrashing of Osasuna.
Meanwhile…
The team will shift its focus to Wednesday’s league match with Las Planas.

A world record is in sight for Jonatan Giraldez’s side after winning its previous 49 league games in a row.
No football club (men or women) has won 50 straight league games.
A win for the team against Las Planas will make Barcelona the first football to achieve that feat.
The record is not far fetched with its recent indomitable form.
