The Americans will enter LA 2028 as reigning Olympic champions, having defeated Brazil 1–0 in the gold medal match at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The confirmed allocation sets the stage for intense continental qualification battles, with Africa (CAF) retaining two direct tickets, while Asia and South America each gain an additional pathway through the playoff route.
