England goalkeeper, Tom Heaton has joined Manchester United after the expiration of his contract with Aston Villa. The 35-year-old goalkeeper who spent the last two seasons at Villa Park has returned to the club where he spent 13 years as a youngster but failed to break into the first team spending time on loan at different lower league sides before he was eventually released in 2010.

The former youth international who represented England at every level from u16 to senior-level has penned a two years deal until 2023 with an option of a further year.

“For me to have the opportunity to come back after spending 13 great years here as a kid, it’s an incredible feeling and I’m excited to get started.

“I’m just seeing it as a fantastic opportunity as I still feel I’ve got an awful lot to give and I’ve got the bit between my teeth.

“I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running. I feel in great shape and I’m looking forward to coming in to compete with the other goalkeepers.” He said.

Heaton’s announcement comes on the back of Sancho completing his move to Old Trafford from Dortmund.
