Official: Philippe Coutinho Joins Aston Villa On Loan From FC Barcelona

Fc Barcelona Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho has agreed to spend the rest of the season on loan at Villa park.

29 year old Brazilian midfielder will spend the rest of the season with Aston Villa on loan from Spanish club Barcelona subject to a medical and work permit with an option to making the move permanent revealed the club on their social media handle.

“Aston Villa and Fc Barcelona have agreed terms for Philippe Coutinho to spend the rest of this season on loan at Villa Park.” Read the club statement.
Coutinho who joined Barcelona in 2018 from Premier League club Liverpool will team up with former teammate at Anfield Steven Gerrard who’s now the coach of Aston Villa.
This is the second loan move for the former Inter Milan player who as well played the 2019/2020 season on loan at Bayern Munich where he won the UEFA Champions League trophy.
Coutinho spent five seasons at Liverpool where he shone brightly before earning a €160m move to the Spanish giants.
Coutinho would hope to rediscover the form that saw him score 54 goals in 201 appearances for the Merseyside club between 2013 and 2018.

Both of them spent two years together at Anfield before Gerrard left for LA Galaxy before beginning his coaching career.
