Official – RC Strasbourg Complete Permanent Transfer Of Abakar Sylla From Club Brugge

RC Strasbourg Alsace have today confirmed the permanent transfer of Abakar Sylla from Belgian club, Club Brugge on a five year deal as he will immediately fly to Austria to join up with the team at their pre-season training camp.

Ivorian international defender and a product of the Société Omnisports de l’Armée, a club in the state capital of Yamoussoukro Loubadhe, Abakar Sylla has signed a five years deal with Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace.
The two clubs reportedly agreed on an fee worth €20m including bonuses, a record signing for the Ligue 1 side, who are now owned by BlueCo, the consortium that bought Chelsea last year.
The 20 year old is a fast and athletic central defender (1.88 meters) and also a natural leader despite his young age. This left-footed player, endowed with a strong temperament, calm in recovery and strong in duels imposed himself in the top flight, competing in the last season a total of 27 matches, including six in the Champions League with a goal to his name.
Having become a senior international in September 2022, he has five caps for the “Elephants” of Côte d’Ivoire.
RC Strasbourg club president, Marc Keller: “We are very happy to welcome Abakar to Racing. His arrival is part of our tradition of investing in talented young players with high potential. Abakar will find ideal conditions in Strasbourg to confirm his qualities and continue his progress.”

According to RMC Sport this morning, Inter Milan have turned their attention to the 22-year-old American international, Folarin Balogun having drawn up a list of alternative targets after breaking off negotiations with Romelu Lukaku on finding out the Belgian had also been in talks with Juventus.
Having been Reims’ standout player last season, scoring 21 goals across the Ligue 1 campaign, Folarin Balogun has inevitably been the subject of interest from within France and beyond on his return to Arsenal.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano indicates that Balogun is open to moving on permanent from his formative club, but that the Premier League runners-up have set a high asking price as reported by GFFN Raphaël Jucobin.
