Official – RC Strasbourg Complete Permanent Transfer Of Abakar Sylla From Club Brugge

RC Strasbourg Alsace have today confirmed the permanent transfer of Abakar Sylla from Belgian club, Club Brugge on a five year deal as he will immediately fly to Austria to join up with the team at their pre-season training camp.

Ivorian international defender and a product of the Société Omnisports de l’Armée, a club in the state capital of Yamoussoukro Loubadhe, Abakar Sylla has signed a five years deal with Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace.

The two clubs reportedly agreed on an fee worth €20m including bonuses, a record signing for the Ligue 1 side, who are now owned by BlueCo, the consortium that bought Chelsea last year.

The 20 year old is a fast and athletic central defender (1.88 meters) and also a natural leader despite his young age. This left-footed player, endowed with a strong temperament, calm in recovery and strong in duels imposed himself in the top flight, competing in the last season a total of 27 matches, including six in the Champions League with a goal to his name.

Having become a senior international in September 2022, he has five caps for the “Elephants” of Côte d’Ivoire.
