After several seasons of lack of playing time, the former Real Madrid midfielder came with high hopes of regaining his best form. The Spaniard was seen under Julen Lopetegui as an essential component of the puzzle.

Isco’s exit from the club has also been accelerated by Lopetegui’s departure. The 30-year-old was not regarded as a crucial player by Jorge Sampaoli, and after an altercation with Sporting Director Monchi in front of the team, his fate was sealed.

The club announced that the 30-year-two-year old’s contract has been mutually terminated after just four months in Seville. Their statement hardly said much more than to wish him well in the future before listing his stats (19 games and one goal).

Isco’s future is not yet known, but he has been strongly linked to a second reunion with Lopetegui at Wolves. Other interested parties have been identified as Arsenal and Juventus.

Isco appeared to be returning during those 19 games without ever being different. Any member of their squad has found it challenging to perform at their peak in a dysfunctional team. Uncertainty surrounds his ability to revert to his former form.

With the help of two ex-Tottenham Hotspur players, Sevilla hopes to bolster their midfield in the January transfer window.

Sporting Director Monchi will shift his focus to buying a player in the winter transfer window after hastily getting go of Isco. He will initially turn to the Premier League, according to Estadio Deportivo.

In the initial part of the season, Sevilla struggled both physically and creatively in the middle of the field. They should get speed and width through the loan of Bryan Gil, who has previously been associated with several La Liga teams following his loan stint at Valencia in January. Gil is well-known to Los Nervionenses because he originally sold the player to Spurs in return for €25 million and Erik Lamela.
