Following one of Villa’s most successful Premier League season to date, the Spaniard helped the team place fourth in the rankings. Consequently, the team from the West Midlands has secured a spot in the Champions League for the first time ever.
In response to the team’s immense progress under Emery, Villa’s management offered the 52-year-old a new contract in April that would last until 2027. After that extension, Emery signed new terms, this time running until the end of 2028–2029, but less than a month later.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Emery said: “I am very happy to take this step and the responsibility of leading this club.
“Since I came to Villa with Wes (Edens) and Nassef (Sawiris) we found always the best environment and structure to develop a project with the highest ambition.
“All the football structure with Monchi and Damian (Vidagany) and the owners, we share the same vision and same goals.
“There’s a great chemistry in Aston Villa. And the element of the fans’ support also makes the difference to feel like home. We are really excited to continue this journey with no limits to our dreams.”

According to reports, Premier League clubs have approved the introduction of a development plan that will curb spending beginning with the 2025–2026 season.
The spending cap proposals were approved by 16 teams, and their goal is to keep the gap between the Premier League’s lower-half teams and its financial titans from growing.
Nevertheless, a report from BBC Sport claims that three teams vying for European football—Manchester United, Manchester City, and Aston Villa—are thought to have voted against the proposal.
