With a 2028 option, the 29-year-old Ukranian international defender is under contract until 2027.

On July 18, when the MLS Secondary Transfer Window opens, Svatok will be able to make his debut. Along with defender Mikkel Desler and DP winger Osman Bukari, he is Austin’s third summer addition.

“Oleksandr is a defender who has consistently shown a great deal of leadership during many years with his previous clubs,” sporting director Rodolfo Borrell said in a release.

“He will join us off the back of competing in the UEFA European Championship and bring a physical presence to our defensive options.”

Svatok has represented Ukraine six times abroad. He’s currently playing representing his country at the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 tournament.
