According to the report, the two clubs are very close to agreeing on a deal involving the former Aston Villa midfielder, with these direct communications between the most influential figures at the two clubs potentially key in unlocking the transfer.
Despite having a solid pre-season, Douglas Luiz is edging closer to the exit door and Forest’s latest offer is reported to be around €30m, loan plus buy option, just below the Bianconeri’s €39m demands for the player, but they’re set to accept this offer as it’s the only concrete one on the table.
Meanwhile, the Old Lady have reportedly lined up Brighton midfielder Matt O’Riley as a potential replacement if the Brazilian completes the move while Manuel Locatelli is seen as a key part of the project, to the extent that Juventus have turned down a €25m offer from Al Ahli.
In a related development, the trio of Arthur, Facundo Gonzalez and Tiago Djalò are also not part of the Juventus project and are looking for a new club this summer after returning from loan spells and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arthur has been approached by his former club, Gremio.
So it’s now up to him to decide whether to return to his native country or wait for an offer from a European club. Arthur hasn’t played for Juventus since 2022 and joined Liverpool, Fiorentina and Girona on loan over the last three seasons since his player swap deal move.

As for centre-backs, Facundo Gonzalez and Tiago Djalò, their contracts expire in June 2026, but after spending the pre-season at the Allianz Stadium, coach Igor Tudor decided that he’d not rely on their services for the new season, hence now is the best time to get a decent fee for them in the market.
