After the Blues’ 2-0 loss to Everton on Sunday, Mauricio Pochettino hinted that the team would need to be active in January. The Blues spent £450 million on 13 new players during the summer transfer window.

As a result, they are now 12th in the Premier League, 18 points fewer than leaders Liverpool. Chelsea’s top goal aim is a new striker, and they have Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen on their list. The club will not, however, be allowed to spend as freely as they have in prior windows without selling players first due to Financial Fair Play constraints.

According to ESPN, Madueke, 21, is one of the potential departures. The January recruitment of the England Under-21 international, who was previously at PSV Eindhoven, is believed to have been greatly influenced by Graham Potter.

Trevoh Chalobah is anticipated to depart elsewhere. The 24-year-old is reportedly attracting interest from Bayern Munich, Roma, and Crystal Palace, who are also keeping an eye on him. Chalobah hasn’t played for Pochettino yet because of a thigh issue that has bothered him the entire season.

Another player who might be moving is Ian Maatsen. Maasten is wanted by Borussia Dortmund to play at the Signal Iduna Park, but it’s unclear if they’ll be able to extend an offer in the coming year.

Meanwhile…

Erik ten Hag is anxious to prevent Jadon Sancho from making a “empty gesture,” therefore Manchester United is apparently willing to accept a “significant loss” on him.

Sancho has a disruptive impact on the rest of United’s team, according to manager Ten Hag, who is determined to get rid of the winger.

This season, Sancho and Ten Hag had a nasty falling out, with the Dutchman publicly criticizing his player in the media for his lack of effort in practice. After spending £73 million on him in 2021, United is now willing to suffer a “significant loss” on the player in the January transfer window.
