Opinion: Deadliest Attacking Trio In Football – BBC or MSN?

Written by Patrick Echatah
Fans all over the world have seen various attacking trios in the beautiful game of football, the peak of the bunch has to be the attacking trio of the MSN and the BBC.
The MSN trio stands for Messi, Suarez and Neymar. Suarez and Neymar have moved on from the Blaugranes, Messi on the other hand is a currently free agent, the trio of MSN caused havoc in Spanish football and in Europe. During the domination of the MSN, Barcelona literarily destroyed teams with hefty score lines.
The brain behind the MSN was none other than Luis Enrique, the current coach of the La Roja , Enrique managed to build from defense to attack bypassing the midfield. It was straight from defense to attack which left their midfielders with little or no work to do.
The BBC on the other hand stands for Benzema, Bale and Cristiano (Ronaldo). The attacking trio was fine-tuned by Carlo Ancelotti. The attacking trio won the champions league multiple times (what no attacking trio has achieved in recent time).
The BBC were impeccable which made Real Madrid difficult at the time, the only attacking trio that could compete with them at that were the MSN their arch rivals.
Ronaldo has moved on, Bale is still a Real Madrid despite going out on loan last summer, Benzema currently the talisman of the team shouldering the responsibility of scoring goals. Benzema has scored 20+ goals in back to back seasons for the Los Blancos.

The trio of Messi, Neymar, and Suarez will eventually go down as the best frontline to ever play for Barcelona and football itself. The combination of Suarez movement, Neymar’s flair, and the intelligence of Lionel Messi formed the deadliest trio in Europe.
The trio simply had it all and proved this by scoring a massive 364 goals across 3 seasons together. They were at the soul of Barcelona’s treble-winning side in the 2015 scoring a total of 131 goals.
The partnership ended in the summer of 2017 after the departure of Neymar, who left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain to mark the end of an era of insane amount of goals, trophies and exciting moments.
The BBC attacking trio won a total of 9 trophies including a treble of Champions League titles during their time together, including two domestic doubles in a row.
During Real Madrid’s excellent three-year run of consecutive Champions League victories, the trio of Bale, Ronaldo, and Benzema dominated Europe, scoring over 200 goals combined and winning plethora of trophies. The attacking trio was formed to shine on the biggest stage, and it justified their price tag.
In the 2018 Champions League final, both Bale and Benzema scored to help Real Madrid win their third Champions League consecutively. Gareth Bale also scored both goals as Real Madrid secured title in 2014, this was Bale’s first season at the Spanish capital.

The attacking trio played a important role in many important games to secure several trophies for the Los Blancos which made them arguably one of the best front trio in the history of football and perhaps the most dominant trio in the Champions League football.
The trio had a combination of the speed of Bale, the footballing brain of Benzema, and the striker’s instinct of Ronaldo to form a front trio that was feared across Europe.
Despite all the goals scored by the MSN, they only won a champions league trophy. BBC on the other hand won 4 Champions League titles together and other domestic trophies. The MSN scored more goals in 3 seasons than the BBC but the BBC undoubtedly won more Champions League trophies.
The real question is that, ‘which attacking trio was the deadliest in the history of Spanish football and Europe at large?‘ Be the judge of that.
