Orlando Pride Loan Konya Plummer To AIK

Orlando Pride defender Konya Plummer has been loaned to the Swedish side AIK.

The Jamaican international will join AIK immediately and the loan will run through November 15, 2021, according to a release on the Orlando Pride website on Tuesday.

We believe this opportunity with AIK will empower her to both show what she has to offer today, while growing into the player she has the ability to become,” Orlando Pride General Manager Ian Fleming said.” We look forward to watching her in Sweden over the next three months.”

Selected No. 10 overall in the 2020 United States of America (USA) National Women Super League (NWSL) Draft out of the University of Central Florida, Plummer has made seven appearances with the Pride, including two in both last year’s Fall Series and the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup.

After playing out a 1-1 draw with Kristianstad last weekend, AIK might give Plummer her first game time in its next Swedish Damallsvenskan game against Djurgardens on August 21.

AIK occupy the eleventh position on the 12 team Swedish Damallsvenskan table with 10 points from 13 games, a place, and seven points off the relegation zone.

After its 1-1 draw with league leaders, Portland Thorns last weekend, Orlando Pride will face Washington Spirit on August 22 and occupy the fourth position on the US NWSL table with 21 points from 15 games.
