Óscar Fernández Becomes New Coach Of Atlético de Madrid

The experienced coach assumes the position of coach of Atletico Madrid’s first women’s team.
Óscar Fernández (2/6/1987, Toledo) is the new coach of Atlético de Madrid Femenino. The coach and club have reached an agreement for him to assume the position of coach of the first women’s team until 2023.
At 34, Óscar comes to Atletico Madrid after a long career in which he has led Madrid teams from Primera Iberdrola and 2ªB (Madrid CFF and AD Unión Adarve).
Óscar, after signing him on his new contract as coach of Atlético de Madrid Femenino, appreciated his arrival at the club in his first interview as a rojiblanco coach. The technician was very happy to be able to lead this project.
Atletico Madrid failed to qualify for the 2021/2022 UEFA Women’s Champions League after fourth-place finish behind Champions, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Levante in the Spanish Primera Division.
The new coach’s first pre-occupation is to return the Club to the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
