RCD Espanyol have today confirmed the permanent transfer of Pablo Ramón from Real Madrid on a three year deal valid until 2028.

More Details

The Mallorcan defender joins the Barcelona based outfit on a free transfer after failing to break through the ranks following his recovery from an injury that forced him to undergo surgery at the end of last April.

The good relationship with Los Blancos continues. They have a history of acquiring young players from Real Madrid, with notable examples including Lucas Vázquez and Marco Asensio.

Following this trend, Ramón will join the Catalan club on a free transfer after signing a contract that extends until 2028. Notably, Real Madrid will retain a 50% stake in the player’s rights.

This clause allows Real Madrid to potentially re-acquire Ramón at a reduced price in the future.

Having spent last season on loan at CD Mirandés in Segunda, making a total of 36 appearances as a regular starter where he enjoyed an excellent campaign, Ramón would be hoping to quickly hit the ground running as the club who currently sit a point shy of safety, with the joint-fourth worst defensive record in the division looks to avoid the drop.
