Written by Oluwaseun Oyediji

The last two tickets for the women’s football event of the Paris 2024 Olympics will be determined on Tuesday.

More Details

The two tickets will be determined between four African teams; Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, and Zambia.

The first leg last week recorded slim wins for the Super Falcons and Atlas Lionesses.

Randy Waldrum’s side pipped South Africa 1-0 in the first leg of the fourth and final qualifying round in Abuja on Friday.

Rasheedat Ajibade’s first-half penalty separated both sides which ended Nigeria’s winless streak over Banyana Banyana in their previous two games.

The nine-time African champions will have to avoid defeat on Tuesday in Pretoria to make it to their fourth Olympic appearance and first since Beijing 2008.

A win by a goal for South Africa will take the match into extra time and penalties as there is no away goal rule for the qualifiers.

The winner of the game on aggregate or otherwise depending on penalties will face Spain, Japan, and Brazil in Group C at the Olympics.

The first leg in Zambia ended 2-1 in favour of the North African side but the game is still open for both sides.

Goals in either half from Zineb Redouani and Rosella Ayane ensured that Lushomo Mweemba's goal for Zambia won't prevent the Atlas Lionesses from returning home with a win.

The winner of this clash on aggregate after the return leg in Morocco will play the United States Women's National Team (USWNT), Germany, and Australia in Group B.
