Pogba will depart the Old Trafford club at the end of this month when his current contract expires. United paid a then world record £89m in 2016 to Juventus to bring Pogba back to United after he had initially joined the Italian giants from the English club for free in 2012.
Pogba’s second United coming wasn’t entirely a success as he was only able to win two trophies in six years with more controversies recorded during that period.
United did activate the option of a further year in his contract in 2021 by extending his stay by a further year to buy themselves enough time for contract negotiations.
However, the United board led by the much maligned Ed Woodward sacked coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and failed to present the right offer to the 29 year old who is now on his way out of the club for the second time.
In a preview of “The Pogmentary” as seen by The Athletic, Pogba was seen discussing with his agent Mino Raiola who is now late about United’s latest offer around July last year.
“Did Manchester (United) make a second offer?” Pogba asked Raiola.
“Yes,” Raiola replied. “They absolutely want you to stay. For me, the offer doesn’t reflect that. I told them, ‘If you want him to stay, don’t make that offer’. I will make them understand that if they really want you to stay and they want to build a project around you, this time they have to act differently and put the money on the table.”
“They’re bluffing,” Pogba said. “How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing? Never seen that.”
The incompetence of the Manchester United hierarchy was once again evident in the way Pogba’s contract issue was handled. A player brought in for a world record fee will now leave the club for free after six turbulent years.
Meanwhile…
The 29 year old Pogba according to SkySports had the United offer on the table but decided to consider other options.
The World Cup winner is now set to agree a deal that would see him return to Juventus where he shone like a million stars between 2012 and 2016.

SkySports understands that the dialogue with PSG is still open but Juventus are far ahead of everybody in the race for his signature with a four year contract ready for Pogba while also taking a huge pay cut to return to the Juventus Stadium.
Manchester City were also believed to have made an offer to Pogba as Pep is an admirer but the fuss and hate that’ll come after such move is what distanced Pogba from the offer.
