Manchester City will definitely be counting their losses should Liverpool win at Arsenal on Wednesday to close the gap on City to just one point.
City did everything but put the ball in the net at Selhurst Park on a frustrating night and could now have their lead at the top reduced to just a point.
Joao Cancelo and Kevin De Bruyne hit the post in the first half while Bernardo Silva missed two glorious chances in a match where the home side rarely threatened.
Guardiola instead has praised his team’s performance on the night but did condemn the state of the Selhurst Park pitch.

“They did absolutely everything to win the game,” he said. “We played a really good game, a really, really good game at a difficult stadium and (against) a difficult side that defends deep.
“Football is the only game (where) it happens where statistics doesn’t count, if you don’t score a goal you don’t win it.
“Luck doesn’t exist in football. We have to score goals and we didn’t do it. We played to score goals and concede few. We struggled a little bit.” He told SkySports.
“It was an incredible effort from Crystal Palace, a fantastic team who defend really well.”
‘We played a fantastic football game in all departments. We created a lot of chances to win and were unfortunate not to score.’
He took a slight dig at at the Selhurst Park turf as he stated it was not in a perfect condition.
“We played to win the game, we created more, the way we played was amazing in a difficult stadium with the grass not perfect.”
Meanwhile…
Patrick Vieira has hailed Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea as some of the best teams in Europe despite forcing the City to a goalless draw on Monday night.
City failed to score a single goal against Palace over two legs and were condemned to just one point out of a possible six leaving the title race widely open.

When asked what it feels like playing against the top two team in the league Vieira added Chelsea to the list and had nothing but praise for the top three teams.
He said: “I would put Chelsea in that bracket as well!
“You’re looking at the number of players they have in the squad, how they play. They make the game look really easy. “It will be a really exciting end of the season for the title.”
Vieira added: “When you play against City you have to concede chances. It’s all about having your luck on the day but also putting in a shift as a team. We did that today.
“We fought for the luck and we got a point. We’re happy with the performance.
“We had some chances. It was that kind of feeling you can score one and win the game 1-0. I’m happy with a draw.”
