On Saturday in Chester, Pennsylvania, the host Philadelphia Union defeated Chicago Fire FC 2-2 by a goal from Daniel Gazdag in the third minute of stoppage time.

In the Union’s season opening win (0-1-0, 1 point), Mikael Uhre added one more goal. Oliver Semmle made his Union debut in goal because Andre Blake was out due to injury.
For Chicago Fire FC, Brian Gutierrez scored one goal and provided one assist, and Fabian Herbers also scored (0-0-1, one point).
In the 73rd minute, midfielder Kellyn Acosta made his much awaited Chicago Fire FC debut as a substitute. Quinn Sullivan’s effort was well-saved by Chicago Fire FC custodian Chris Brady in the 74th minute.
In the 85th minute, Nathan Harriel attempted a goal for Philadelphia, but it was disallowed for offsides.
However, just two minutes remaining in stoppage time, Gazdag scored the equaliser. Thomas Barlow of Chicago Fire FC took a shot at goal-straight range in the sixth minute of stoppage time, but Semmle stopped it.

Kevin Long, a centre back of Birmingham City in the English Championship, has joined Toronto FC, the team announced on Tuesday. His deal is set to expire in 2024, with an option in 2025.
Along with No. 1 SuperDraft choice Tyrese Spicer and Honduran international midfielder Deybi Flores, the 33-year-old former Irish international is Toronto’s third offseason addition.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to the Toronto FC family,” head coach John Herdman said in a release. “Kevin’s experience will be a welcome addition to TFC’s back line. He’s here to help rebuild the club and is hungry for success.”
