Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his joy as fans are set to return in full capacity to the Parc Des Princes on Saturday.

PSG is set to take on Strasbourg on Saturday which will be their first home game this season.

The deadly covid-19 pandemic prevented fans from entering the stadiums across the world as strict prevention rules were put in place to curb the spread of the deadly virus which began in 2019 but reached it full strength in 2020.

Although fans were allowed in few numbers into some games played towards the end of last season but this season will be different entirely as things are set to return back to normal.

Expressing his joy during PSG vs Strasbourg pre-match conference, Mauricio Pochettino said: “It’s a dream come true. I have wanted this since I arrived here, to play in front of a full Parc. The fans were great during the season opening match at Troyes, and it’s a source of real happiness to be with them in Paris tomorrow for the Strasbourg game.”

Pochettino since taking over the helm of affairs in the French capital has not been privileged to see the Parc Des Princes at its full strength and with the additions made to the team during the transfer window, it’s definitely going to be an electrifying phase at the stadium.

Asked about his new squad, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager responded: “When several players join, it’s not necessarily easy for the coaching staff, the new players and the club. But that’s our job, we need to stay competitive and our priority is to take the three points tomorrow, and we’re focused on the match.”

“We are happy, just like the supporters and all the players, to have Leo Messi with us. It’s great to be able to welcome him here, and he has real positive energy. We have a marvellous team in order to be competitive, and we hope to do our best in order to achieve the club’s objectives,” he said about Lionel Messi.

In preparation for the match against Strasbourg itself, Poch responded: “This match is very important to us, we won the first match at Troyes and we need to show the same energy and motivation tomorrow in order to score a second win. We’re going to respect our opponents, and be at our best, because we want to keep our run going. We want to play the best match possible.”

“Not everything has been decided for the squad. The last of the internationals to come back have trained well in recent days and we will decide tomorrow which players are best able to be part of the squad,” he concluded.

AS Monaco stretched their winless Ligue 1 start to two games after a first-half penalty from Nigeria Terem Moffi gave Lorient a 1-0 win over the principality side on Friday.

Moffi converted the 31st-minute spot kick after he was hauled down by Ismail Jakobs shortly after Sofiane Diop skied his shot over bar from a good position at the other end.

Monaco had 72% of the possession in the first half but Lorient came close to doubling their lead when left back Vincent Le Goff shaved the top of the bar with a cross-turned shot in the 43rd minute.

Defender Strahinja Pavlovic glanced a header inches wide for the visitors shortly after the break but that was as close as they came to an equaliser as they created little up front against a packed Lorient defence.
