Eight-time European Champions, Germany will meet England at Wembley Stadium in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 final after an Alexandra Popp brace secured a tense and hard-fought 2-1 victory for Die Nationalelf over Le Bleues of France at Stadium MK.

Popp’s late run into the penalty box ended with the forward poking a left-footed volley into the roof of the net.
Popp became the first player to ever score in five consecutive Women’s European Championship matches.

An own goal beached the German backline with Kadidatou Diani’s driven 20-yard strike rebounding off the head of Merle Frohms, before trundling across the line.
France had chances in the second half to take the lead but couldn’t convert them which eventually haunted Le Bleues as Popp continued her one-woman assault on the tournament, netting the winning goal 14 minutes from time.
