The 28 year old striker was a summer acquisition from Inter Milan on a record £97.5m deal.

Lukaku has been a shadow of his former self since returning to his dream club according to him and openly criticized the coach in the long interview.

Carragher however believes Thomas Tuchel would outlast the Belgian striker should Chelsea have to do away with either of them which would be a totally new development to the player power which was a norm at Stamford Bridge.

He praised Tuchel as being one of the best coaches and suggested Chelsea would easily replace Lukaku better than a replacement for Tuchel.

“I admire what Mikel Arteta has done with Aubameyang and in some ways I admire Tuchel here,” he told Sky Sports.

“Let’s not forget this club. This is a different club, the players have always won against the manager.

“Right now, I think in terms of top managers around in world football, I would say we have three in the Premier League in Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel.

“Look at the problems, Manchester United have right now – they still don’t know who they’re going to get at the end of the season.

“I actually think right now – even though they’ve had great success changing managers over the last ten years – I think it would be easier for them to replace Lukaku then the manager they’ve got.”

“Because they’ve got a proper top class manager right now.”

Meanwhile…

Graeme Souness who is as well a Liverpool legend said that the Lukaku interview went a bit over line.

The former West Brom striker discussed a return to Inter Milan affection for the city of Milan.

Another Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness, said that Lukaku was out of order with his comments.

“This guy has more than crossed the line,” he said. “He has to apologise to his teammates.”

“Someone in the dressing room has come up with that nonsense when we were players, how do you think we would have reacted?

“It’s so offside it beggars belief.”

Lukaku was eventually left out of the team that played out a 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday evening.
