Despite Bournemouth’s lack of experience playing on the continent, Huijsen has been crucial to their rise up the Premier League standings this season because of their solid defensive connection with Illia Zabarnyi.
Despite his stature, Huijsen has been commended for his ability to play central defence and has made the most clearances (126) and headed clearances (62) of any adolescent in Europe’s top five divisions this season.
Huijsen received his first Spain call-up this week, taking Inigo Martinez’s place in La Roja’s squad to play the Netherlands, his birthplace, demonstrating that his form has not gone ignored.
Huijsen, who joined the senior squad this week, has been eager to discuss the possibility of eventually joining Real Madrid in an interview with Relevo.

Huijsen said, “It’s an honour when you hear about Real Madrid interest; I’m proud to have such a big club interested in me,” in response to a question concerning the links. It’s definitely special.
When the defender was at Malaga’s academy, Los Blancos made a move to secure his services, but he declined because he believed it was too early in his development to make such a drastic change. In light of his recent advancements, he has now disclosed that he would be amenable to taking that leap.
“At the time I thought that the best thing for me was to learn a little bit of the defensive aspect, and I think I’ve learned it now.” Huijsen claimed
