The English Premier League’s most exciting encounter of the season thus far ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw between Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, which many had predicted would be a borefest.

More Details

Aston Villa rallied back to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1, while Liverpool put three past Bournemouth without answering.

Manchester City’s point, which came only in the 98th minute through the boot of John Stones, barely retained them atop the EPL standings. In their London derbies, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both triumphed.

Enzo Maresca’s men annihilated West Ham United 3-0, while Spurs made sure that an additional early goal by Brentford would be in vain as they won 3-1.

(GK) Dean Henderson

Dean Henderson, who left Man United amicably, was happy with his performance against the Red Devils. The Englishman made a total of seven saves to keep his boyhood club at bay.

(LB) Marc Cucurella

Cucurella has successfully turned his Chelsea career around and is currently among the first names on the roster. In the 3-1 victory at West Ham, the Spaniard performed admirably against Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus.

(CB) Gabriel Magalhães

Gabriel scored with a thunderous header for the second week in a row. The Brazilian scored Arsenal’s second goal of the match and proved to be a destructive force at set pieces. Although he was not able to accomplish much more, he will be sad that it was not the winner.

(CB) Ezri Konsa

Ezri Konsa completed the Lions’ late comeback against Wolves by volleying home at the back stick with a perfect touch exactly when his team needed it. In addition, the England international completed 97% of his passes and made two tackles during the game.

(RB) Kenny Tete

At Craven Cottage, Fulham’s right flank tormented Newcastle United, giving the visitors fits with their combination of Adama Traore and Kenny Tete. Tete kept Anthony Gordon at bay while bursting forward down the right-hand side to open up the game for Fulham.

(CDM) Moises Caicedo

In addition to taking out the entire Hammers defence and nonexistent midfield with an inch-perfect through pass for Nicolas Jackson, the Ecuadorian produced one of his best performances for Chelsea thus far, recording an incredible eight tackles.

(LCM) Youri Tielemans

The highlight of the game versus Wolves was Youri Tielemans’ ability to create plays. Not a bad week for a player who also received Man of the Match in Villa’s Champions League victory over BSC Young Boys.

(RAM) James Maddison

This past weekend, Maddison, wearing a Tottenham Hotspur shirt, produced one of his best games to date against Brentford, leading to a thrilling victory in North London.

(LWF) Luiz Diaz

Liverpool’s Luis Diaz continued his incredible Premier League run, scoring five goals so far this season. He did this by taking advantage of Kepa’s choice to leave his goal undefended for his first goal, then finishing coolly through the legs of the Spaniard.

(CF) Nicolas Jackson

Nicolas Jackson was involved in all three of Chelsea’s goals at the London Stadium. The 23-year-old sealed all three points for Enzo Maresca’s men, starting with a cool strike at Alphonse Areola’s near post and finishing with a deft outside-of-the-boot finish.

(RWF) Son Heung-min

With his assists for Maddison and Brennan Johnson, the Tottenham captain Son Heung-min now has 64 assists in the England’s top-flight league.
