PSG Midfielder Could Be On His Way To Atletico Madrid In The Summer

PSG midfielder, Giorgio Wijnaldum could be on the move barely a year after leaving Liverpool to joining French club, PSG on a free transfer.

At that time, the Dutch midfielder looked like he would sign for Barcelona as everything was reportedly agreed between the club and the player but he would later opt for PSG, who were reported to have swooped in with a higher salary offer.

Since then, the player has found himself more on the bench than on the field with the coach preferring other players in his starting eleven.

With an eye on the coming World Cup in Qatar, the player doesn’t want to lose his place in the national team, hence he’s also considering his future with the Parisians despite having two years left on the deal he signed with them.

Reigning La Liga Champions, Atletico Madrid haven’t had the best of start to the season that has seen them fall off in the title race as they’re now pursuing a top four place.

With Mexican midfielder, Hector Herrera rumored to be on his way out of the club, the Los Rojiblancos are seeking for midfield reinforcement and have set their sight on Wijnaldum as the perfect fit for their squad.

It is believed that a fee of about €20 million should help get the player, considering the fact that he doesn’t play much but his huge salary could prove to be the sticking point, unless the player is willing to take a wage cut in order to make the transfer happen.

Atletico Madrid coach, Diego Simeone will be able to have January signing, Daniel Wass available soonest following his injury after joining the Los Rojiblancos.

Wass, who can play as a right-back and also as a right-winger joined from Valencia but got injured in his first match for his new team and has been out since then.

The player is not expected to be available for this weekend’s La Liga match but he has started training with the ball and could become available in the coming weeks. He was signed as a replacement for the departed English defender, Kieran Trippier.
