Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims that midfielder Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain is “keen” to join Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

More Details

The 23-year-old’s future is currently up for debate; his agency recently disclosed that the midfield player is probably going to depart PSG in the current transfer window.

Man United are seen to be in the driver’s seat when it comes to a potential move, although Manchester City and Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested in the Uruguayan international.

The 20-time English champions, according to Romano, are “keen” on Ugarte, and the South American is willing to join Erik ten Hag’s team this summer.

Le10sport claims that Man United has made significant headway in luring Ugarte over the past few days and that the Red Devils are certain to prevail in the competition for his services.

According to the report, Ten Hag’s team is prepared to offer Ugarte €45 million (£38 million) plus bonuses; PSG is currently carefully evaluating the offer in addition to outside interest.

Man United are focusing on developing young players under their new organisational structure, and the club has designated central midfield as a position that has to be improved this summer.

Before joining PSG, Ugarte was a standout player for Sporting Lisbon from 2021 to 2023. He made 37 appearances and contributed three assists for the French powerhouses in the previous campaign.
