PSG Name New Head Coach Ahead Of 2024/2025 Season

French Club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has announced the appointment of Fabrice Abriel as head coach of the women’s team.

The French technician has signed with the capital club until June 2026.

A former player trained at Paris Saint-Germain, Fabrice Abriel took his first steps into the elite of French football with the Parisian jersey and won the Intertoto Cup with the club in 2001.

After his professional football career, Fabrice Abriel then turned to a coaching career, with experiences at FC Gobelins, in the staffs of the French military team, and the Amiens SC Training Center.

In 2020, he became assistant coach of the FC Fleury 91 women’s team, before being promoted to the number one position at the end of the season and thus beginning his career as head coach.

Under his leadership, the Fleury club ranked fourth in the D1 Arkema championship in 2022 and 2023, then fifth last season.

The Essonne team led by the Suresnes native systematically reached the last four of the Coupe de France, losing in the final against Paris Saint-Germain last May.

The Danish striker joined Les Parisiennes from the Swedish women’s top flight, Linkopings FC in January 2023.

In a season and a half, the Dane played in 48 games, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists.

In the Rouge et Bleu jersey, she won the Coupe de France in May 2023.
