PSG on their part, want to sign a quality central midfielder to accompany the talented Marco Verratti, with new sporting director, Luis Ocampos particularly keen on the services of De Jong.

The Parisians are preparing for a massive clear out as they also prepare to sign new players and Di Maria has seen his playing chances grow smaller at the club with each passing year.

He has been linked with a move to Italian side, Juventus but according to reports, his agent has reportedly offered him to Barcelona but it is hard to see the Blaugrana making a move to sign him, unless they’re unable to convince Ousmane Dembele to sign a new deal with the club.

With Leeds United staying up for another season in the English Premier League, thereby raising the transfer value of their Brazilian winger, Raphinha, the Catalans don’t have enough options in the transfer market, hence could have a rethink about signing Di Maria.
