There was a recent report of Inter Milan’s interest in signing Serie A outstanding striker, Joshua Zirkzee and the newly crowned Serie A champions are even ready to sacrifice two of their prospective talents to achieve that goal.

More Details

To further boost their chances, it is being reported that Zirkzee likes the idea of joining Inter. Because, aside from being able to compete with the best teams in Europe, the forward feels his technical abilities would fit well with Simone Inzaghi’s playing style, but then, the deal makes little sense.

This is because Inter already have Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram in attack as first choice option for Inzaghi’s two striker formation, and the pair were very instrumental in their recent title winning charge, but in hindsight, it looks like there could be more to this interest in the Dutch striker.

French giants, Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly lose Kylian Mbappé this summer when his contract expires in June. The Frenchman is expected to join Real Madrid as a free agent, and the capital club will need to devise a plan to replace his production.

Over the last few months, various forwards have been linked to the Parisians as potential Mbappé replacements. As the summer months approach, there will be more names rumored to be potential targets for PSG. The latest player In the rumor mill is Inter forward Thuram.

The outlet also notes that the Parisian club is prepared to offer €55 million.

While Inter will most likely hold out for around €70-80 million to part ways with him. This will allow them to spend around half of that on Zirkzee, while using the remaining funds to strengthen other areas of the team.

It should be recalled that the club carried out similar operations in the last summer transfer window when they sold Andre Onana to Manchester United for a huge fee one year after signing him as a free agent.

But the difference there is that now, the Nerazzurri don’t necessarily have to sell any player to balance their books, unlike in the past, but they still have to finance any major signing(s) with sales of players too.

Thuram is under contract with the Serie A side until 2028 and has scored 14 goals and recorded 12 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this season for the Nerazzurri, with his latest goal coming against AC Milan in the derby, helping them to clinch the title.
